Showing the versatility of Barossa Semillon, this vibrant and lifted wine shows intense lemon and white flower aromas. Fermented in a concrete tulip with just a small portion of skins, the palate is fresh and long with pithy phenolic grip that gives it wonderful drive through the palate.

"A gently hazy green-gold hue leads to aromas of lemon leaves and blossom, sage, a hint of Calvados-like apple essence, sourdough and dried ginger amid ferrous, stony mineral notes. There’s plenty of subtle texture here, a slip of richness up front being cinched in with fine skinsy tannins, tugging gently through the close, the flavours running long and the gentle drying pucker giving this high refreshment value."

“Some exceptionally clever winemaking here, using fruit from 50 year old vines, with one larger ferment in concrete tulips (with 5% whole berries and bunches) and the remainder in stainless steel on full skins. The result is a beautiful interpretation of Barossa Semillon with distinct concentration and flavour. Noticeable salinity shines alongside pithy ripe grapefruit, beeswax, saffron and cut pear. There are fine chalky phenolics that offer subtle grip and tension. Tangy yet generous, with waves of freshness that beg for something salty. Delicious. Semillon done very, very well.”

“Succulent, medium weight white with skinsy chew, great freshness, good gingery spice elements, a lot of honey-lemon-bergamot tea going on too. Wonderful ginger-lemon tea perfume too. Delicious. A lot of width and depth here, it feels like a white keen to go now rather than hang around in cellar. I found this a pretty compelling wine to drink.”

"When it comes to semillon, the Hunter Valley is widely regarded as Australia’s spiritual home and also one of the top places on the planet for this variety. But I’ve got to admit a soft spot for wines from the Barossa with their slightly weightier fruit and sheer drinkability as young wines plus some aging potential. This is a delicious example with a little skin contact adding not only aromatic interest but also a pithy, food-friendly texture. It promises great things over a casual lunch.
Pale gold in colour, there is a beautiful array of fruits – just ripe apricot and guava with subtle layers of fennel seed. Dry, and quite full-bodied, juicy acidity and gentle phenolics come together to give energy and impact with some more nutty flavour elements coming through on the finish. A great primer on skin contact whites."

Straw in hue with notes of Meyer lemon, almond blossom, apples, souk-like spice, ginger and stone. Super-slinky texture, a light shading of rose petal and dried herbs, with a gorgeous stony savouriness and crystalline mineral clarity".
