2025 Kin Semillon

A vibrant and intense wine might have you thinking 2025 was an easy year. It was anything but! With frost danger and generally low yields, this wine has come through with flying colours, jumping out of the glass with lemon sherbert, lemon blossom and grapefruit notes. The fruit profile is savoury and there's lovely weight and texture to the Kin Semillon in 2025.

With frost danger and generally low yields, this wine has come through with flying colours, jumping out of the glass with lemon sherbet, jasmine and wet pebble notes,. The fruit profile is savoury and there’s lovely weight and texture to the Kin Semillon in 2025.

Vineyard Notes

This season our Semillon blocks were decimated by that early frost, meaning we had to look elsewhere for fruit. Fortunately we were able to find some excellent Vine Vale Semillon, which was picked in the cool, early morning.

Young-vine semillon from Block 26b, with a little semillon gris from Block 27 and some old-vine material from the Old Quarter. It's light straw in the glass and presents as a wonderfully expressive wine. Lemon, juicy white peach and a touch of nectarine with underlying hints of clover blossom, honeysuckle, grapefruit sorbet and stone. Composed and dry, with a stony minerality and a feathery textural aspect. Great drinking.
